Human Connection and Biblical Education

Human Relationship in Biblical Education Is Important

Human relationship is a vital aspect of biblical education, because it reflects God's design and purpose for humanity. According to the Bible, God created humans in His image and likeness, and He intended them to live in harmony with Him and with each other (Genesis 1:26-28). However, sin disrupted this original plan and caused alienation and conflict between God and humans, and among humans themselves (Genesis 3). The rest of the biblical story is about God's redemptive work to restore human relationship with Him and with one another through Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again to give us new life (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:14-18).

At Great Lakes Bible College, we aim to help students understand and appreciate God's love and grace, and to cultivate a personal and communal relationship with Him through faith and obedience. In a culture that sometimes debates what it means to do so, we try to also equip students to love their neighbors as themselves, and to seek peace and justice in a broken world (Matthew 22:37-40; Micah 6:8). We belive that Biblical education should not be merely an intellectual exercise, but a transformative process that shapes the character, values, and actions of students according to God's will.

Human relationships while pursuing biblical education are important because:

- It fosters a sense of belonging and identity in Christ, who unites people from different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives into one body (1 Corinthians 12:12-27).

- It enhances learning and growth through mutual support, encouragement, feedback, and accountability (Proverbs 27:17; Hebrews 10:24-25).

- It provides opportunities for service, ministry, and witness to others, both inside and outside the classroom (Matthew 28:19-20; Galatians 6:10).

- It models the values and practices of God's kingdom, such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

Human relationship is an essential component of biblical education, because it reflects God's nature and plan for humanity. By cultivating human relationship through biblical education, we can honor God, grow in His likeness, and advance His mission in the world.
