Our Foundations in Ministry Certificates offer students an opportunity to complete a short-term, non-degree program personalized to meet a wide range of goals, from training for church and congregational leadership to learning Biblical languages and more.
Our faculty will work with you to develop your personal program from approximately 70 course subjects in Bible, Ministry and Worldview in line with your interests that will help you achieve your learning and serving goals.
Your program will include the equivalent of 5 full course subjects plus practical ministry experience.
Each full course lasts 15 weeks. You should devote about 10 hours per week for each of your subjects which includes class time plus personal study and practical assignments for a total of about 150 hours per course subject. The total study and assignment time required for your 5 subject and ministry experience certificate is approximately 800 to 1,000 hours.
In common education language, a full course subject is 3 “credit hours” (3 hours class time per week for 15 weeks + personal study and assignments time = 150 clock hours). Your ministry experience project is 1 “credit hour” (about 50 clock hours over 15 weeks). So, your certificate program will total 3 x 5 + 1 = 16 “credit hours” (approximately 800 to 1,000 clock hours).
To maintain a healthy life balance, students with families and/or full-time employment should attempt only 1 course per four-month term.
We are available to help you with your subject selection, schedule and admissions process.
Depending on the availability of the courses you choose, and the timeline you want to set for yourself, your Foundations in Ministry Certificate may take between 6 months to 2 years.
